Muscatine Bridal Expo 2013

Yesterday I was given the opportunity of a lifetime! The Muscatine Journal’s very own, Jaime Weikert, invited me to Muscatine’s first ever-bridal expo.

The bridal expo filled the Clarion with amazing decorations and wonderful stations where you could learn about new and old traditions that could make a bride’s wedding special. This included the Flower Shop, who is now renting out tuxedos, and Origami Owl, which makes special lockets that you can put charms in for you wedding party, or even yourself.

My favorite part of the whole day was emceeing the fashion show with Isabella Blaine, Miss Muscatine 2013. We had the opportunity to talk about the great volunteers who dedicated two whole days to the fashion show and gave out discounts to their stores. Not only that, but we got to see beautiful wedding dresses. We saw everything from a hot pink wedding dress to a seafoam green bridesmaids dress to pink tuxedos. The models were amazing and they all looked beautiful and handsome.

I am so happy to say that I got this opportunity, and I know that I defiantly improved on public speaking over that span of time.
