This past Friday, I had the pleasure of welcoming Wapello alumnus Gary Carlson, Iowa's representative for District 91, to my school to educate the junior high student body on politics, voting, and the mechanics of the American government. He spoke to the students about his political journey and his role as a state legislator. I also helped lead an interactive question-answer session during his presentation, which served as a great learning opportunity for the students.
